Ryoko Chijiiwa

Ryoko Chijiiwa joined Corning in 2017 after finishing her PhD study in Japan. During her PhD study, she was focusing on the fundamental understanding on filtration mechanisms of the particulate filters, which remove harmful small particles from the vehicle engine exhaust. For the current role as a senior Systems Engineer in Corning in Germany, she continues to work on the application engineering and the development of gasoline particulate filters for the cleaner engine exhaust gas.

Besides her work, she has a strong passion to learn different languages. Based on her experience: doing her Master study in France and working in Germany, she found that learning language is very important and helpful not only to communicate with people but also to understand the cultures and people. She speaks 4 different languages: Japanese, English, French and German (still learning).
