Dr. Kirsten Langfeld is technical assistant to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO). In this role, she supports special projects and assists in ensuring the strategic goals and business objectives of the IT department’s key stakeholders and business leaders are met. An additional focus of Kirsten’s role is driving her professional growth within the company through exposure to executive leadership and networks.
Kirsten originally joined Corning Inc. as part of the Optical Communications (COC) group in 2014. As a materials scientist in RD&E, she was able to apply the deep technical knowledge she gained as a post-doctoral researcher in the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing. Kirsten then moved into a business analyst role in the global division of COC’s engineering department focusing on change management and business engagement.
Kirsten earned her Ph.D. in chemistry from the Technical University, Berlin, and her master’s degree in chemistry from the Technical University, Munich. Kirsten resides with her husband and two sons in Berlin.
