Tech Talk Speaker

NatWest

Becks is the Digital Accessibility Lead at NatWest Bank based in the UK. She leads a team building an accessible bank by design, focusing on a digital world. Her work across the Retail Banks Digital Channels helped her win the Outstanding Transformation of the Year at the Women in Tech Excellence 2022. She is now widening her focus to all digital experiences across NatWest.  In this leading the culture change she works across, mobile, web and chat-bot technologies and more advocating for inclusive design ‘build for the one, to work for the many’ and debunking myths that accessibility means experiences aren’t fun.
Wider, Becks promotes that anyone can learn to code, it’s all about finding the right learning style, after memories of her first coding class that went very wrong. Becks is dyslexic and uses this as a strength to explain the world in different ways and understands the personal impact good digital experiences can make. Prior to this role, Becks has worked in both technical and UX roles, giving her a broad perspective and insight into how to create the best accessible experiences.
