Karolina Staniewska

Let’s start with the fact that Karolina did not end up in IT industry by accident. You can even say that IT is in her blood — her parents are mathematicians and her older brother is an IT security specialist. In her career she has also been involved in practically all key areas of IT — from the helpdesk, where she started working immediately after graduating from the University of Technology, through designing systems and managing various IT teams, to where she is now. When she first started working at KMD, Karolina faced the unique challenge of creating a new IT organization. She was one of the first 17 people to join the company and as a manager, she participated in developing the company on the Polish market.

In her career she was leading both very small SCRUM teams, but also large 100-person department at 5 KMD locations in Denmark and in Poland.

She loves starting something up, giving that some shape and then growing to the successful ventures. That might be teams (KMD and Edlunds subsidiaries in Poland), but also concepts and products, like Cloud Center of Excellence and KMD C-NAP (Cloud Native Platform), which she is involved in right now.
